Beyond the Standard White........

As a designer, I always try to think outside the box. Well, lately I've noticed a trend in painting interior doors a color other than the typical standard white. Okay, this is brilliant-and something I probably would never do if someone hadn't started this phenomenon. It has made me re-evaluate how I look at interiors and to see beyond the "standard"of keeping doors (and wood trim) the same color. I love the idea of involving every aspect of your room into the color scheme you've created. Would you change your standard white?

Get Inspired by White!

Okay, I love a white kitchen- I always get inspired by this fresh color. Although, some might say a white kitchen can be boring, I look at a white kitchen as a blank canvas-allowing me to dream big. White gives way for other materials to shine- a piece of art, a great fabric on the window (or chair), chic accessories.  A white kitchen always has a fresh appeal to it. You can take it in any direction and it works. For instance, it reads well in a modern kitchen and also works great in a traditional one. Either way, it always has a refreshing quality. I added some of my favorite inspirational (and, of course, very chic) white kitchens below-enjoy!

A Great Little Find

I was browsing through a floral shop the other day( you just never know what you'll find-besides flowers) and spotted these great little cups.  Anything with the color gray always catches my eye-and with a toile pattern you cant go wrong. So, I took these great finds home (at only $4 a cup) and thought I would use them in my bathroom where it never hurts to "up the sophistication level." And these little cups did the trick- they are a great holding spot for my q-tips and makeup brushes. I've also fallen in love with this desk (pic below) I love the natural limed oak finish-so very chic. (I'm day dreaming of this to be my new desk)

Welcome to the Blogging World

I have entered a new world-the world of blogging! I've known about blogs for quite some time, but when I discovered that interior designers were blogging, I got inspired. Being a designer myself, I am always looking for what inspires me and motivates me to be better. A lover of all things beautiful, this blog will be a great way to jot down my interpretation of what is chic! To be honest, I am "blogging" in my head all day long, so this is a great outlet-for me and whoever else wants to read it. Let the blogging begin!
For my first post I want to talk about 2 things that I think are very chic..........my kids!! They inspire me everyday and make everything in my life beautiful.
